Medication Aide Professional

We are seeking a skilled Certified Medication Aide to support our team at Hills & Dales Child Development Center. As a Medication Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Administer scheduled and assigned medications accurately, adhering to the six R's: Right Resident, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time, Right Route, and Right Documentation.
- Resident Support: Lift and position residents as required to administer treatment and/or medication, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock medication supply and prepare medication orders as scheduled, maintaining a well-stocked inventory.
- Documentation: Document medication administration accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge and Skills: Maintain a working knowledge of medications administered, treatments, and resident programs, applying this knowledge to medication/treatment tasks.
- Communication: Inform the nurse on duty of medication/treatment errors, providing timely updates and ensuring resident safety.
- Assistance and Support: Provide assistance to the shift nurse, observing resident health and safety, and following directions during medical emergencies and routine daily tasks.
- Inventory and Supply Management: Monitor nursing inventory supply and prepare supply lists for items needed, maintaining and stocking nursing areas during assigned shifts.
- Transportation: Accompany residents to medical appointments, as assigned, and may drive Center vehicles for errands or transportation, if an approved driver.
- Confidentiality and Data Protection: Maintain resident/client privacy and assure the confidentiality of all data, adhering to HIPAA policy and confidentiality procedures.
- Additional Duties: Assist with the direct support of residents as needed, perform other duties as assigned, and work alternate or additional shifts as required.
- Certification and Education: Certification as a medication aide in the state of Iowa and a high school degree or equivalent.
- Background and Employment History: Free of a conviction or prior employment history of child or resident abuse or dependent adult abuse.
