Job Overview

Dormakaba is seeking a skilled Assembler III to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. This role involves handling materials, managing inventory, and performing complex production and assembly processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accurate floor inventory and replenishment for the assembly department
  • Perform a variety of complex production and assembly processes, including operating production assembly machines and hand tools
  • Visually inspect parts, use basic test equipment to make routine mechanical measurements, and communicate issues to the supervisor or lead
  • Pack finished product with necessary hardware and instructional sheets
  • Train Assemblers I and II, participate in Continuous Improvement activities, and perform daily 5S
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for fine manipulation
  • Comfortable working at heights of feet
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIVs)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Experience with problem-solving tools like 5Y, A3, KATA
  • Exposure to CI methodologies like Kaizen, Six Sigma
