Job Title: Registered Nurse (Per Diem)We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Student Health Services team. As a Per Diem Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing care to students in an ambulatory care setting. Your primary duties will include performing routine office procedures, administering medications, patient triage, teaching, referral, and follow-up care.
Responsibilities:- Assess and triage patients in an ambulatory care setting, ensuring compliance with health services policies and philosophies.
- Identify nursing needs of patients and deliver care as defined by the nursing practice parameters of the NY state licensing board.
- Promote service standards and create a patient-focused caring environment, addressing individual patient needs.
- Assess patient education needs and provide instructions or referrals to appropriate providers.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to improve patient care.
- Demonstrate patient advocacy, ensuring patients' rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for individual nursing practice, with respect to nursing judgment and actions associated with the performance of all duties.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and respect with nurse practitioners, physician colleagues, nurses, NP students, and faculty, and other healthcare team members.
- Maintain compassionate and caring relationships with all colleagues and others, with a commitment to the fair treatment of individuals, to integrity-preserving compromise, and to resolving conflict.
- Demonstrate responsibility to preserve integrity and safety with respect to others and self, to maintain competence, and to continue personal and professional growth.
- Independently perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- An active, current unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse license.
- A minimum of two years of experience as an RN, with at least one year in an ambulatory care or emergency department setting.
- Basic Life Support certification.
