Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Construction Surveillance Engineering Technician to provide support to various Public Works Departments and Resident Officers in Charge of Construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the coordination of the construction quality management program for designated projects.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager to evaluate and recommend approval for contractor quality control plans.
- Participate in quality control meetings and ensure accuracy in three-phase checklists.
- Provide insights on Government Quality Assurance reports, particularly regarding critical features of work.
- Document progress through photographs and maintain records.
- Verify the quantity, condition, and approval of materials on-site before invoice payments are processed.
- Assist in reviewing and witnessing successful testing and commissioning of essential systems.
- Ensure quality workmanship aligns with specifications and industry standards across various building materials and structural systems.
- Attend and review selected tests, ensuring compliance with all applicable reports and results.
- Maintain communication with the Government sponsor regarding project status while independently managing assignments.
Qualifications
Applicants should meet the following experience and education criteria:
- A minimum of 10 years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager for General Contractors on relevant projects or 10 years of verified foreman experience in trades such as Concrete, Mechanical, Electrical, Masonry, or Carpentry on commercial or military projects.
- Completion of the USACE Construction CQM Certification is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in various conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to navigate rough terrain and work in confined spaces or at heights.
