Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist at Proliance Surgeons provides technical support to the surgeon and operating room team by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide optimal care to patients throughout their surgical experience.
  • Maintain a positive and caring attitude with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Properly handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon based on requests and patterns.
  • Monitor the sterile field and ensure its maintenance.
  • Assist in ensuring that proper supplies, instruments, and equipment are available for the procedure.
  • Verify that equipment is functioning properly.
  • Monitor the use of all supplies and assist with inventory control.
  • Continuing education to meet State requirements and stay current with healthcare changes.
  • Display professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Center.
  • Take an active role on committees within the department.
  • Identify actual and potential risks to patients and others and take action to minimize or eliminate risk and maximize safety.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.
  • Current State licensure and CPR.
  • Two years of direct experience desired.

Work may be performed in an office and clinical environment. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is required to sit for long periods of time, stand and walk, bend and stretch. Use of telephone and computer is required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 pounds. May require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
