Job Title: School Nurse

Regional School Unit 57 is seeking a qualified School Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing health services to students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide health assessments, develop and implement health plans for students
  • Provide care for illness and injury to students in accordance with written protocols
  • Follow health and safety procedures established by the district
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) for students with special health care needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to ensure students receive comprehensive care
Requirements:
  • Current license in the State of Maine as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid provision or professional state certificate to serve as a school nurse
  • Completed fingerprinting in accordance with school requirements
  • Minimum of two years nursing experience in pediatrics, community health, or as a school nurse
Working Conditions:

The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to students and staff in a variety of settings. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, and maintain confidentiality.
