Your Role

DEPCOM Power, a subsidiary of Koch Engineered Solutions, is seeking a Site Engineering Specialist who thrives in dynamic settings. This role demands extensive travel as an on-site engineer supporting the construction of large-scale solar photovoltaic plants ranging from 10-300MW, including per diem and regular home visits.

Candidates may reside anywhere but must be available to travel to project locations as required.

This position does not qualify for VISA Sponsorship.

Our Team

The Site Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in both self-performed and contracted construction projects for utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the nation. This position delivers exceptional value to our clients by ensuring efficient field operations through effective communication, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving, guaranteeing that projects are completed on schedule and adhere to design specifications, regulations, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate inspections and engage with local, county, and state Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) to confirm that sites are built according to design specifications and standards
  • Maintain and document construction and engineering drawings, including red-line sets
  • Manage Requests for Information (RFIs) among construction teams, engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure subcontractors and internal teams adhere to their defined scopes of work
  • Review submissions for construction materials
  • Assist in preparing specifications, data sheets, and other pre-construction documentation
  • Keep stormwater documentation logs and coordinate necessary remediation efforts
  • Proactively address project constraints through collaboration with project management, engineering, and construction teams
  • Operate drones to monitor construction progress and identify issues
Qualifications
  • Proven experience meeting deadlines
  • Skilled in report generation and data compilation
  • Experience working collaboratively in team environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant technical field
  • Experience operating drones or holding an Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) license
  • Background in Field Engineering, Project Engineering, or Construction Management within the Renewable Energy or Oil & Gas sectors
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate in multilingual settings
For this position, the anticipated salary range is $70,000 - $90,000 annually. This role is eligible for variable compensation, which may be awarded as a monetary bonus or in another format.
