Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Certified Nursing Assistant courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction and effectively engaging with and facilitating authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Certified Nursing Assistant courses, including lecture and lab components
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and the program
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work and professional development
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two (2) years of full-time experience as a licensed nurse, at least one year of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting
  • Active California Registered Nursing License
  • Director of Staff Development (DSD)/Instructor Certificate prior to start
  • One (1) year verifiable experience as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Starting salary rate is $88.30 per hour.
