Norman Regional Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Observation Unit. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a 16-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit that provides care to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse-patient ratio is typically 4-6 patients per nurse, and we have a strong support team that includes a charge nurse, unit assistants, and representatives from respiratory, lab, and case management departments.
We offer a comprehensive orientation program for new nurses, which includes a 6-8 week preceptorship and classroom courses. Additionally, we have a nurse residency program for new graduates that provides ongoing support and education.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Registered Nurse in our Med/Surg Observation Unit, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and prioritizing care based on patient needs. You will also be responsible for delegating tasks safely and effectively, evaluating patient responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions as needed.
QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must have a diploma or Associate's degree in nursing, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Previous hospital experience is preferred, but not required. You must also have a current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training during orientation. New graduates are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.
