Position Overview:
The Test Engineer plays a vital role within a diverse team, focusing on the design, implementation, and delivery of our advanced systems and solutions. This position entails creating and executing test plans, developing test fixtures, and performing thorough testing of electronic products. Conducting root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and troubleshooting are essential components of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Engineering and Production Test Fixtures.
- Create and implement product test plans, along with preparing comprehensive test reports.
- Support component lifecycle management by collaborating with design engineers to identify and test alternative electronic components.
- Assist the manufacturing engineering team to ensure that all necessary documentation and training for new product releases are completed.
- Provide support to the operations team with tasks such as RMAs, RCFAs, and administrative duties.
- Facilitate compliance and certification testing through third-party testing facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, including technical training and professional background.
- Up to two years of experience in a related field.
- A collaborative team player willing to tackle assignments beyond core competencies.
- Proficient in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and processor emulators/debuggers.
- Knowledgeable about product certification processes (e.g., CE, UL, TUV).
- Experienced in testing and troubleshooting electronics at the component level.
- Familiar with transitioning electronics-based products from design to production.
- Experienced in developing and implementing test setups, including documentation and verification of operations.
- Ability to interface effectively with both internal and external manufacturers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in transitioning low to medium volume industrial electronic products from engineering to production.
- Background in industrial automation products; experience with Rockwell Automation is advantageous.
- Familiarity with industrial automation protocols such as Modbus and Profibus.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel may be necessary to support projects and product development efforts.
