Role Overview

We are seeking a licensed midwife to join our team at Fika Midwifery. As a key member of our community birth setting, you will provide high-quality care to clients during prenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn periods.

Job Summary
  • Pursue a career in out-of-hospital birth with a focus on physiologic birth and breastfeeding support.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and healthcare teams to deliver inclusive well-person care and comprehensive family planning services.
  • Develop skills in quality assurance, care coordination, and patient education to enhance client satisfaction and outcomes.
Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing skilled care to clients throughout the birthing process.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to coordinate client care and ensure seamless transitions between prenatal, labor, postpartum, and newborn phases.
  • Supporting clients in making informed decisions about their care and promoting shared decision-making.
  • Staying up-to-date with best practices in midwifery and incorporating evidence-based research into daily practice.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A valid midwifery license in New York State.
  • A background check and satisfactory physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Strong technical skills and certification in NRP and CPR/BLS.
  • A commitment to the midwifery model of care and out-of-hospital birth.

Compensation

The salary for this role is $85,000-$100,000+ depending on experience.
