Job Summary

We are seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant & Medical Aide to join our team as a Transportation Aide for Special Needs Students. This role requires a high level of physical fitness and the ability to work with students who have special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing safe transportation of special needs students to and from designated locations.
  • Provide medical support and care to students as needed, including administering medications and performing medical procedures.
  • Monitor students' medical conditions and report any changes or concerns to the supervisor.
  • Assist students with mobility and communication needs, including using wheelchairs and other assistive devices.
  • Work collaboratively with the bus driver and other staff members to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students.
Requirements
  • CNA or Medical Assistant Certification is required.
  • Current State of Michigan Licensure is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  • Mental and physical ability to perform assigned job duties; must pass a physical examination including drug test.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and kneel on hard surfaces and is occasionally required to walk or stand. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee frequently will reach above the head and forward. The employee frequently uses hand strength to grasp equipment or students. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds such as students or students in wheelchairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
