Position Summary
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Under minimal supervision, the role involves performing complex repairs and maintenance on industrial laundry and associated machinery. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing, maintaining, and overhauling equipment. Responsibilities include executing preventive maintenance tasks and documenting all service activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to safety protocols established by the organization.
- Exhibit safety consciousness throughout daily operations.
- Encourage collaboration and a unified goal-oriented culture among team members.
- Diagnose, install, and repair intricate mechanical and electrical issues, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with minimal guidance.
- Operate boiler systems and related equipment to maximize efficiency.
- Interpret blueprints and electrical schematics with limited supervision.
- Experience with PLC-controlled machinery.
- Request parts by referencing the manufacturer's catalog or inventory.
- Guide and mentor junior mechanics to enhance their performance and foster teamwork.
- Conduct all scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Fine-tune laundry systems to improve overall operational efficiency.
- Engage in significant welding, plumbing, and project-related tasks.
- Collaborate proactively with the team to ensure optimal equipment functionality.
- Assist colleagues at all levels with laundry-related tasks.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of plant equipment operations.
- Be prepared to undertake additional duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Preferably four years of experience in industrial/commercial laundry equipment maintenance or a combination of education and experience.
- Completion of boiler operation training and certification (or equivalent experience).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in using power tools, scissor lifts, hand trucks, and forklifts.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Able to analyze and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal assistance.
- Competent in gas, ARC, and MIG welding.
- Able to operate all machinery for diagnostic evaluations.
- Capable of lifting and handling objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Able to read and interpret technical blueprints for efficient problem resolution.
