Job Title: Physical Therapist - Per Diem

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Samaritan Healthcare. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, inpatient physical therapy services to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with physical disabilities resulting from injury, disease, or surgery. You will work closely with our healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, utilizing physical agents, biomechanical, and neurophysiological principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate each patient as directed by the ordering physician and develop patient care plans.
  • Administer therapeutic treatments utilizing physical agents, biomechanical, and neurophysiological principles.
  • Re-evaluate and assess the patient's status and initiate a change in treatment program as needed.
  • Document all pertinent information, utilizing the electronic medical record, and educate patients and others regarding the treatment plan and procedures.
  • Provide direction to all assisting support staff for physical therapy patient care.
  • Efficiently organize the daily workload and monitor the safety and effectiveness of all patient care equipment and the work environment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a school of physical therapy approved by the State of Washington Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
  • Active, or eligible to obtain, Washington state Physical Therapist license.
  • One year acute care experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within 3 months of hire.
Competencies:
  • Demonstrates competency on equipment listed on department specific checklist.
  • Critical thinking skills: seeks resources for direction, performs independent problem solving, and exercises safe judgment in decision-making.
  • Performs actions that demonstrate accountability and practices within legal and ethical guidelines.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, crouching, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Considerable physical activity as requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling involved with objects up to 50 pounds.
