About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Atomic Semi. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, prototyping, and building semiconductor fabrication equipment. Your expertise will be essential in developing new technologies and creating innovative designs to improve the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of semiconductor fabrication.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop precision mechanical components and systems for scientific instruments
  • Work with manufacturers and tools to prototype and manufacture mechanical systems
  • Test and iterate on mechanical systems based on their performance
  • Create thorough documentation (CAD, drawings, design rationale, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of industry experience in mechanical engineering
  • Strong experience with mechanical system design and analysis
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, manual machining, 3D printing
  • CAD (SolidWorks / Onshape), including FEA, 2D drawings, simulations, etc.
  • Ability to design for conventional machining and additive manufacturing
  • Experience with tolerance analysis and understanding of GD&T

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing
  • Experience designing for high voltage, vacuum, and EM fields
  • Precision engineering experience (vacuum chamber, nanoscale mechanical precision, microfluidics, etc.)
  • Experience with Python scripting and data visualization
