We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venipuncture and skin puncture procedures with precision and care
- Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling
- Meet response time requirements for stat and timed orders
- Participate in committee work and contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures
- Perform inventory and audits as directed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal error
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks under stressful conditions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
