Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role includes providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as required. The technologist may be assigned to various locations as needed.

The technologist should possess the ability to perform basic troubleshooting, engage in quality assurance activities, and address issues related to image processing and archiving systems.

Effective communication and behavior must reflect the organization's mission, values, and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meets the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Conducts a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including more complex tasks, utilizing appropriate techniques and providing clear procedural instructions to patients.
  • Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies potential contraindications.
  • Follows established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engages appropriately with patients and healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.
  • Assists Radiologists or other medical professionals during invasive and fluoroscopic procedures, using equipment to accurately locate anatomical sites.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures, while adhering to Infection Control standards.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Upholds patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job duties.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized qualification required. 1-3 years of hospital experience preferred. Current registration from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is mandatory (Temporary permit required for new graduates).

Current state licensure is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is necessary.
