Job Summary:The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a stable condition and predictable situations, adhering to the Professional Nurses Practice Act.
Responsibilities:- Implement selective aspects of the nursing care plan, including comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, and other essential care.
- Observe patients for changes in physical and/or mental status or behavior and report significant changes to the Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.
- Take vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Administer medication and treatments in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Transcribe physicians' orders and record medication and patient's condition on patient's charts and other records.
- Request stock drugs, medications, and supplies as assigned.
- Administer CPR in emergency situations.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients.
- Gather information about patient's past and current physical and mental status.
- Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality care to patients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
