Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehabilitation. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to our residents, helping them achieve positive outcomes and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate residents' conditions for swallowing or cognitive deficits and develop individualized treatment plans to address these needs.
  • Provide skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments and implement treatment plans to increase residents' independence and functioning.
  • Offer education and training to residents, caregivers, and other professionals on speech and language therapy techniques and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate diagnostic swallowing procedures and provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and caregivers to ensure seamless care and address any concerns or questions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to speech and language therapy services.

Requirements:

  • Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current ASHA Certification
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
