Are you a skilled cook looking for a part-time opportunity in the beautiful Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego? We're seeking a Culinary Artist to join our team at Campland on the Bay, a fun and casual resort restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you'll play a vital role in preparing and serving delicious meals to our guests.
About the Role:
This is a part-time hourly position that offers paid sick time and unique perks. You'll be working closely with our other cooks, bartenders, barbacks, cashiers, and runners to provide exceptional service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include:
• Preparing and cooking regular and special menu items using various cooking techniques
• Maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen work areas, including deep cleaning the kitchen and equipment as directed
• Receiving deliveries and stocking food and non-food supplies
• Washing dishes, pots, and pans, and utensils
• Opening or closing the kitchen as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have prior experience working as a line and prep cook. You should be well-versed in safe, sanitary food handling and able to communicate effectively with our entire restaurant and bar team. A current San Diego County Food Handlers' card is also required. We're looking for someone who is a team player, can quickly memorize menu items, and is willing to work on whatever needs to get done. In return, we offer a competitive salary of $18-$22 per hour, depending on experience. This estimate is based on industry standards for fast-casual restaurants in San Diego.
