Job Overview:
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to support patient care. Your role will include:
  • Participating in on-call duties, including up to three nights per week and one weekend per month.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards in the laboratory environment.
  • Conducting phlebotomy and specimen collection, demonstrating knowledge of age-specific techniques.
  • Clarifying physician orders and addressing inquiries regarding tests and results.
  • Maintaining high standards in routine and emergency testing, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Assisting in the training and orientation of new laboratory staff.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Preparing and monitoring quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of laboratory operations and procedures.
Qualifications:
Certification or registration with ASCP, NCA, NEW, or equivalent is required. Strong communication skills in English are essential, and bilingual abilities are advantageous. Proficiency in computer systems for effective communication within the medical team is expected.

Compensation:
Contract pay is $1,918.00 per week.

Work Environment:
This position involves working in a dynamic healthcare setting, contributing to patient care through laboratory services.
