Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team at Chenega Corporation. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing repair and maintenance on a variety of equipment, systems, and structures, including lab equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and plumbing equipment, including pumps, air compressors, and miscellaneous mechanical items.
  • Install and repair environmental-control systems in office buildings and other commercial establishments.
  • Work with equipment similar to that at Edison, requiring a strong understanding of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
  • Collaborate with the Foreman to ensure efficient and safe operation of the system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • New Jersey Low-Pressure Boiler License.
  • HVAC CFC Certification.
  • Completion of a four-year U.S. Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship in HVACR or a Bachelor's degree in HVACR from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three years of mechanical and electrical maintenance helper experience within the past three years.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to sit and talk or hear, and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
