Respite Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Worker to join our team at Fedcap Rehabilitation Services. As a Respite Worker, you will provide short-term relief to caregivers who are responsible for the primary care and support of individuals with developmental disabilities.

The Respite Worker will provide indirect services, including in-home respite and recreation respite, to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Provide protective oversight for assigned individuals
• Assist with personal care and provide reminders and simple assistance for activities such as eating
• Follow service plans designed by the care coordination team
• Encourage individuals toward self-reliance
• Understand and respect the confidentiality of individuals and families
• Accept responsibility for compliance with all policies, procedures, and service requirements of Fedcap Rehabilitation Services and the Respite programs
• Complete and maintain all required documentation

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to meet the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to work independently and flexibly, with varied hours and locations

• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
• Experience working in a minimally supervised setting
