Role Responsibilities

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in line with departmental standards and state regulations. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will conduct various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway integrity.
  • Administering respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
  • Assisting in the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapies and intervening as necessary.
  • Facilitating the safe transportation of patients requiring ventilatory support.
  • Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway management and adequate ventilation.
Qualifications Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 60 months of hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 60 months of hire.
  • State licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field.
