About the Role:

Elastic is seeking a skilled Developer Advocate to join our team in North America, with a focus on the San Francisco area. As a Developer Advocate, you will be responsible for fostering the Elastic community, creating technical content, and speaking at conferences and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster the Elastic community in North America, with a focus on the San Francisco area.
  • Create technical content around the Elastic Stack, including talks, blog posts, videos, and demos.
  • Speak at virtual and in-person events, such as conferences, meetups, and lunch & learn sessions.
  • Answer technical questions on Discuss, Slack, social media, and at events.
  • Contribute to Elastic repositories or external ones to integrate better with Elastic technologies.
  • Help users be successful with Elastic's stack, solutions, and cloud offerings.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience and technical background in Python, JavaScript, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
  • Active in the San Francisco tech community.
  • Empathy for the community to help them solve their issues.
  • Comfortable working with a highly distributed team.
  • Experience working self-driven and self-organizing.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
