Job Summary

The Director of Engineering plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our Engineering division. This key leader will be responsible for scaling and growing the division to meet the demands of our expanding client base in the permanent installation and themed entertainment industry.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Operations, the Director of Engineering will collaborate closely with the engineering management team to develop and implement process improvements, advise on necessary personnel hiring, and facilitate equipment procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor senior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research & Development to set strategic objectives for the engineering division.
  • Advise leadership on resource planning requirements, including personnel and equipment needs.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and cost management.
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, fostering collaboration and transparency.
  • Develop and refine departmental processes to enhance efficiency and quality control.
  • Act as a consulting engineer on projects, reviewing work and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong budgetary management skills, with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with Solidworks and Altium PCB design software highly desirable.
  • Based in Baltimore, MD, this position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
