We are seeking a skilled Electrical Distribution Technician to join our team at the City of Lake City, MN. As an Electrical Distribution Technician, you will perform intermediate skilled technical work in the construction, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical distribution systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Performs construction and maintenance work on overhead electrical distribution systems, including setting poles and anchors, stringing wire, installing or changing transformers, and hanging cutouts, cross arms, and insulators.
- Operates equipment such as digger/derrick, bucket truck, backhoe, pay loader, and hotline tools and test equipment.
- Connects, disconnects, and replaces service loops, builds and replaces transformer banks, and assists in the construction and maintenance of underground electrical transmission and distribution systems.
- Investigates trouble calls, performs installation and repair work on customer service connections, and answers service calls, diagnoses problems, and makes repairs to overhead and underground systems and service connections.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including helping to train and work with apprentices.
- Associates/Technical degree with coursework in journeyman/line worker curriculum, or related field and considerable experience in electrical distribution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license within six months of hire.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Job-related rescue training.
- Electrical Safety training.
