About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Stabilization Coach to join our team at Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership.


Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families by providing housing stabilization services.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Counseling clients on plans for meeting their needs, and aiding them to mobilize their inner capacities and environmental resources to improve social functioning.
  • Referencing clients to community resources and other organizations, and developing and maintaining service networks with collaborating agencies, providers, and entities.
  • Calculating rent based on the Department of Housing and Urban Development formula.
  • Interviewing applicants to determine the nature and degree of problems such as personal and family adjustments, finances, employment, food, clothing, housing, and physical and mental impairments.
  • Providing money management counseling and information on basic life skills.
  • Determining client eligibility for financial assistance, performing protective payee services, making payment arrangements with creditors, and maintaining records with participants.
  • Assisting families in finding and assessing appropriate childcare.
  • Ensuring participants abide by lease agreements and property rules and guidelines.
  • Accessing and recording participant and community resource information, documenting case management sessions, and updating participant case files.
  • Maintaining ongoing knowledge of existing and new agency programs for low-income persons.
  • Promoting positive public relations and educating the public through speaking engagements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • At least two years' experience and/or training working with human services or social work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or social work is preferred.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $17.44 - 24.62 per hour, based on education and experience. This position is non-exempt and requires a 40-hour workweek.
