Position Overview:
As a Land Use Assistant Resident Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing land development initiatives and ensuring compliance with local policies and regulations. This position serves as the primary liaison for local authorities regarding land-use matters.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Administer land development activities within designated regions, ensuring adherence to established land-use policies and guidelines.
2. Manage resources and personnel assigned to the program to achieve strategic objectives.
3. Represent the department effectively, maintaining open communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Oversee budget management for the program, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in applying civil engineering principles to land development and transportation projects.
- Familiarity with land use processes, including rezoning and public engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, budgeting, planning, and project oversight.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and engineering design software.
- Ability to cultivate effective relationships with employees, citizens, and public officials.
- A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory.
- A valid driver's license is required.

Additional Considerations:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in a comprehensive transportation program is advantageous.
- Experience in supervising teams and managing transportation maintenance programs is a plus.
