Cybersecurity Engineer Role Summary

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will work independently and as a team contributor to support multiple stakeholders in cybersecurity operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the cybersecurity of Air Force software factories
  • Collaborate with Air Force programs to enable the cybersecurity of applications and infrastructure in a DevSecOps environment
  • Support the cybersecurity of other Air Force networks, systems, and applications, as assigned
  • Conduct vulnerability and risk assessments of current and future networks, infrastructure, and applications
  • Perform key cybersecurity analyses and use technical risk management principles to assess applications and systems
  • Review documentation to ensure that established security requirements are adequately addressed and sustained
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes leading to successful Authority to Operate (ATO) decisions
  • Make Authorization Recommendations to Security Control Assessor (SCA) and Authorizing Official (AO)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • 5% travel may be required

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Computer Science and 10 years of directly related experience is required
  • DoDM IAM Level III Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is required
  • Familiarity with DoDIs & , NIST SP 800-53, AFI 17-101, and RMF is required
  • Experience with A&A processes, Authorization requirements, and SCA/AO requirements is required
  • DoD Secret Security Clearance is required at hire and must be maintained. U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance at hire is desired
  • ISC2 Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) certification is desired
  • The ideal candidate will have skills and experience with one or more of the following:
  • IaaS/PaaS/SaaS
  • DevSecOps/agile
  • Software applications
  • Cloud (AWS, Azure, e.g.)
  • Virtual machines (VMware, e.g.)
  • Containers (Kubernetes, e.g.)
  • Red Team/penetration testing
