Cedars-Sinai is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate Data Scientist to join our team in the Slomka Laboratory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, machine learning, and data analysis, with experience working with electronic medical record/medical imaging data.
The Research Associate Data Scientist will participate in biomedical research projects, developing and evaluating computational and statistical methods, including artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms and software.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and communicate scientific results through laboratory meetings, scientific conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate computational and statistical methods for biomedical data analysis.
- Present and communicate scientific results through laboratory meetings, scientific conferences, and peer-reviewed publications.
- Create database-to-deployment pipelines for models using Python, R, and C++.
- Develop sustainable data science infrastructure and adhere to data analysis/machine learning standard processes.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to gauge the need for or appropriateness of advanced analytical methods.
- Work with senior or lead data scientists, research programmers, and principal investigators to identify areas where data science can best be applied to answer biomedical research questions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Imaging, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Master's degree in these fields is preferred.
- Up to two (2) years of professional experience in healthcare industries working with electronic medical record/medical imaging data.
- Experience programming at an intermediate to advanced skill level with a high-level programming language such as Python, C++, or R.
