Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager and guided by the policies and procedures of UCSF Medical Center, Ambulatory Services, and the Department of Ophthalmology, the Orthoptist will provide patient services under direct or indirect ophthalmologist supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • See patients under the supervision of the attending pediatric ophthalmologist and provide patient care and technical support for pediatric ophthalmology patients, adults with binocular vision problems, eye movement disorders, and strabismus.
  • Provide optometry screening clinics and work in a team environment to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations
  • CPR/BLS certification through AHA
  • Orthoptist Certification through The American Orthoptic Council within two years of hire and maintained throughout tenure
