We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at JT Engineering, Inc. in Wisconsin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects and providing technical expertise in stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling/design.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Develop Stormwater Management Systems: Ensure regulatory compliance and develop effective stormwater management systems, including detention/retention ponds, infiltration systems, and conveyance channels.
- Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling: Use HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to assess water flow, flood risks, and drainage capacity.
- Evaluate and Design Stormwater Systems: Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development projects.
- Prepare and Review Environmental Reports: Ensure regulatory adherence and sustainability by preparing and reviewing environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments.
- Lead and Manage Water Resource Projects: Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination, and serve as the primary client contact.
- Conduct Site Inspections and Oversee Construction: Ensure design specifications are met and conduct site inspections to oversee construction.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends and Technologies: Apply innovative solutions and stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
- Mentor Junior Engineers and Technical Staff: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff in water resource engineering.
- Ensure Quality Work and Adhere to Quality Control Processes: Ensure quality work within guidelines and adhere to Quality Control processes.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering: Focus on Water Resources or a related field.
- 5+ Years of Experience in Water Resources Engineering: Emphasize stormwater management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License: Or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Proficiency in Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling: Use HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS Software: Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations.
- Ability to Manage Multiple Projects and Meet Deadlines: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in Watershed Planning, Floodplain Management, and Green Infrastructure: Preferred.
- ENV SP or Other Sustainability Certifications: A plus.
- Valid Driver's License and Reliable Transportation: Authorized to work permanently in the country.
- Willingness to Travel Occasionally for Work or Professional Development.
