Job Summary:

The 2nd Shift Distribution Supervisor is a salaried leadership position responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of workflow through an assigned area. This role is focused on receiving, picking, packing, and shipping warehousing functions within the Retail and DTC distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to 50 associates.
  • Achieve continual process improvement by focusing on accuracy, customer value proposition, order flow/processing schedules, inventory, and expense management.
  • Coach, train, and mentor staff to continuously improve the effectiveness of the workforce and utilize recognition and performance management to reinforce and affect behavior.
  • Write and administer annual Associate performance evaluations and conduct regular career development and performance conversations.
  • Monitor and track labor productivity and key performance indicators and improve performance verses prior year and plan objectives.
  • Eliminate non-value-added activities and inefficiencies and remain competent in decision making, risk management, and cost analysis.
  • Promote safety leadership by protecting the health and welfare of the Company's associates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in a technical discipline (Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Operations Management) preferred or 5 plus years of related work experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in distribution operations.
  • Proficiency with warehouse and distribution management software is required. Experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management System preferred.
  • Ability to analyze forecasting and make well-supported recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Thorough understanding of policies and procedures relative to customer service.
