Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Curator Assistant to join our team at Oregon State University. As a Curator Assistant, you will play a critical role in the care, preparation, and imaging of specimens, as well as data basing and cataloguing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Physical curation, care, preparation, and imaging of specimens
  • Data basing and cataloguing
  • Filing and clerical work
  • Library research
  • Assist with laboratory organization and cleaning
  • Sample preparation for analysis
  • DNA extraction of specimens, PCR, and processing of DNA sequence data
Requirements
  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
Preferred Qualifications
  • Students with career goals related to biological sciences or related field
  • Strong and demonstrable work ethic
Working Conditions

The student worker can work up to 24 hours during the academic term and up to 40 hours per week during breaks or a term off.
