Job Summary

The Staff Pharmacist is a key member of our pharmacy team, responsible for providing clinical judgment, professional knowledge, and distribution skills to ensure patients receive pharmaceutical care consistent with our department's mission and the hospital's standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispensing: Prepare and dispense medication orders according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Monitoring: Ensure safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients, monitoring drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and allergies.
  • Position-specific competencies: Sustain the formulary, provide accurate drug information, document clinical activities, and assess patient needs.
  • Quality and efficiency: Contribute to the quality and effective operation of the pharmacy, supervising and directing pharmacy support personnel.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Pharmacy preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hospital experience in an inpatient, decentralized setting preferred.
  • Licensing: Current license as a Registered Pharmacist in good standing by the State of California.
Physical Demands

Must be able to sit for 4 hours and stand/walk for 6 hours or more per day, with moderate exposure to hazardous waste and materials.

Special Considerations

Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision, communicate effectively, and handle frequent interruptions.
