Job Title: Maternal Newborn RN Travel Nurse

Samba Care is seeking a skilled Maternal Newborn RN Travel Nurse to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Maternal Newborn RN Travel Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on scientific nursing principles.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care plans.
  • Maintain a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for patients.
  • Assist patients with their hygienic needs.
  • Check patients for any postpartum bleeding.
  • Examine patients' fundus.
  • Inspect C-section incisions (if applicable).
  • Assess patients' pain, if any.
  • Perform emotional status checks on patients, recognizing symptoms such as those related to postpartum depression.
  • Monitor bonding between patients and their infants.
  • Take patients' and infants' vital signs.
  • Measure input/output of patients and infants.
  • Monitor patients and infants and report adverse reactions to any treatments or medications being given.
  • Provide patients with breastfeeding tips.
  • Educate patients on sore nipple management.
  • Teach patients bathing tips for their infants.
  • Instruct patients on diaper changing.
  • Weigh infants.
  • Perform heel sticks for blood glucose measurements of infants.
  • Keep track of all feeds and diapers.
  • Bathe infants.
  • Involves and educates family/significant others in implementing best practices for patient and infant care.
