Fairway Management, Inc. is a prominent property management firm operating across multiple states, focusing on the affordable housing sector. The organization oversees around 250 senior and multifamily tax credit and rural development properties across ten states.

Role Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the entire invoice processing workflow, ensuring adherence to both company policies and governmental regulations. This role requires timely payment processing and collaboration with the operations team to uphold commitments to vendors and external partners. Additionally, the specialist will work closely with accountants to resolve any invoicing issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Input incoming invoices into the accounting system.
  2. Ensure that invoice entries comply with all necessary regulations.
  3. Process monthly mortgage payments, annual taxes, and other miscellaneous payments.
  4. Maintain effective communication with Property Managers and vendors in a professional manner.
  5. Collaborate with accounting staff to address any queries or discrepancies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures.
  • Intermediate data entry skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with Onesite accounting software is preferred.
  • Advanced customer service abilities.
  • Strong capacity to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment.
