Job Summary

Tencarva Machinery Company is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team. As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various manual metalworking machine tools, maintaining a safe working space, and ensuring a high quality of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpieces as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, balancers, and other machine tools.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-2 years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Working Conditions

The work environment is moderate, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
