Permanent Substitute Teacher

Achievement Charter Academy is seeking a skilled and dedicated Substitute Teacher to provide classroom coverage for absent teachers. As a Substitute Teacher, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, implementing lesson plans, and ensuring the academic and social growth of students.

• Implement lesson plans and maintain a safe and positive learning environment
• Monitor student interaction and keep students on task
• Ensure the integrity of academic time and motivate students to learn and participate
• Maintain classroom arrangement and ensure the proper use and care of school property
• Address minor student conflicts and report any unusual occurrences or events to the principal or designee
• Evaluate academic and social growth of students and prepare report cards
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior in accordance with ACA policies and procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Educator's License required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies
• Flexibility and strong judgment when making decisions
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations

The Substitute Teacher will work regular hours during the absence of the classroom teacher and will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality of student information. The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift students of various weights, and perform other physical demands of the job.
