Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Marine Geophysics Researcher to join our team at the University of Hawaii System. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in marine geophysics, teaching courses, and supervising students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in marine geophysics, including active or passive seismology, electromagnetism, seafloor geodesy, or seafloor cables/DAS.
  • Teach courses in marine geophysics and related fields.
  • Supervise students in independent study activities and off-campus learning.
  • Serve as academic advisor to students.
  • Participate in curriculum development activities.
  • Conduct research or undertake comparable scholarly activity.

Requirements

  • Doctorate from a college or university of recognized standing in a field relevant to the position.
  • Expertise in marine geophysics research.
  • Demonstrated ability as a teacher.
  • Demonstrated scholarly achievement.
  • Ability to establish an extramural funded research program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to develop a cutting-edge research program in marine geophysics.
  • Record of extramural research funding or leadership in major research programs in marine geophysics.
  • Record of or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and mentoring.
