Job Summary:
Vallarta Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our premises, assets, team members, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Security Services: Secure premises and personnel by patrolling the property and staying visible.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: Greet and smile at all times, providing a positive and welcoming experience for customers, team members, and vendors.
- Identify and Prevent Security Risks: Be vigilant and alert, identifying potential security risks and taking proactive measures to prevent losses and damage.
- Write Incident Reports: Record observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities as needed.
- Communicate with Law Enforcement: Maintain a professional relationship and communication with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel.
- Assist Asset Protection Team: Contribute to the Asset Protection team's efforts in preventing theft and losses, and assist in the execution of shoplifting arrests and other crimes.
- Enforce Company Policies: Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Stay Compliant: Remain in compliance with local, state, federal, and BSIS regulations for Proprietary Private Security, and keep all licensing up to date.
- Respond to Emergencies: Respond to emergencies and provide necessary assistance to team members and/or customers.
- Follow Procedures: Follow procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention and property damage.
- Firewatch Patrol: Perform firewatch patrol as necessary.
- Use Company-Provided Cell Phones: Use company-provided cell phones to stay in contact with other security personnel and the Asset Protection Team.
- Inspect Perimeter Doors: Inspect perimeter doors to ensure locks are in place and working properly at the end of the day.
- Report Safety Issues: Report any safety issues and concerns.
- Report Graffiti: Report any graffiti or vandalism.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Security Experience: Prior security guard experience preferred.
- Customer Service Experience: Customer service experience required.
- Language Skills: Basic understanding of Spanish and English language; reading, writing, and speaking required.
Physical Demands:
- Standing and Walking: Prolonged standing and walking required.
- Light Lifting: May require light lifting of supplies and materials.
- Travel: May require travel between locations in the district based on business needs.
Work Schedule:
- Non-Exempt Position: This is a non-exempt level position.
- Flexible Schedule: Available to a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Nights, Weekends, and Holidays: Open to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
