South Burlington School District is seeking a Transportation Monitor to assist in providing safe transportation of assigned students to and from designated locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist assigned student(s) with entering and exiting the school district vehicle and while commuting.
  • Operate lifts for wheelchairs.
  • Secure special equipment and school-related materials that may accompany the student.
  • Be alert to any conditions in the land and unloading area that present a danger to students and others.
  • Facilitate good student conduct while enroute and follow District protocols for discipline.
  • Report any concerns or issues to the Supervisor and/or Administrator in a timely manner.
  • Communicate in an appropriate fashion with students, parents, and employees.
  • Assist the driver, as needed.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or a General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
  • Two or more years' experience working with school aged children is desired.
  • Current Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI); Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid Certification is required.
