Position Overview:

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing diagnostic imaging procedures within the established scope of practice. This role involves preparing patients and equipment for various imaging examinations while ensuring the availability of necessary supplies in the radiology department. The specialist is expected to produce high-quality radiographs, minimizing repeat images, and managing multiple assignments across different imaging modalities daily.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties include:

  • Conducting routine diagnostic imaging services for eligible individuals, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  • Maintaining proficiency in operating radiographic equipment safely and effectively, in line with documented education and training.
  • Implementing radiographic safety measures in accordance with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
  • Collaborating with educational institutions to support student learning experiences in a clinical environment.
  • Ensuring clear communication with the healthcare team to address patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Accurately documenting patient information and imaging data in the electronic health record system.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in responding to patient care demands, including adjusting work hours as necessary.
  • Identifying and addressing any equipment malfunctions promptly, reporting issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess an Associate's degree in Radiology or a related field from an accredited institution. Certification in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within a specified timeframe after hiring.
