The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing diagnostic imaging procedures within the established scope of practice. The specialist is expected to produce high-quality radiographs, minimizing repeat images, and managing multiple assignments across different imaging modalities daily.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties include:
- Conducting routine diagnostic imaging services for eligible individuals, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Maintaining proficiency in operating radiographic equipment safely and effectively, in line with documented education and training.
- Implementing radiographic safety measures in accordance with the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle.
- Collaborating with educational institutions to support student learning experiences in a clinical environment.
- Ensuring clear communication with the healthcare team to address patient inquiries and concerns.
- Accurately documenting patient information and imaging data in the electronic health record system.
- Demonstrating flexibility in responding to patient care demands, including adjusting work hours as necessary.
- Identifying and addressing any equipment malfunctions promptly, reporting issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess an Associate's degree in Radiology or a related field from an accredited institution. Certification in Radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within a specified timeframe after hiring.
