Job Summary:

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a skilled Paraeducator Assistant to support teachers in promoting student learning and well-being. The ideal candidate will work individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing instructional programs and monitoring student behavior
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, reinforcing instruction and promoting learning
  • Perform various instructional and classroom management supports, as well as related clerical tasks
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professional staff to support student learning and well-being

Requirements:

  • AA degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • College coursework in education-related fields, such as behavior management and instructional strategies
  • One year of experience working with students in structured educational situations preferred
  • Or, two to four years of experience working with children and adolescents in education-related fields
  • Or, successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time position, 6 hours bi-weekly
  • Working months: 10
  • Day shift
