Senior Security Engineer, ReSec Red Team

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our ReSec Red Team at Amazon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database security and a passion for security research and vulnerability analysis.

The successful candidate will participate in security research and review, penetration testing, threat modeling, and design. They will work closely with our team to ensure our services and applications are designed and implemented to the highest security standards.

Key qualifications include 6+ years of experience in software security, a deep understanding of Linux and Linux internals, and working knowledge of at least one scripting language and one relational database.

Preferred qualifications include experience performing or supporting Red Team engagements, participation in computer security competitions, and domain expertise in security architecture and engineering, communication and network security, identity and access management, security assessment and testing, cryptography, and software development security.

The ideal candidate will have a data-driven and quantitative mentality, excel in supporting ideas with available evidence, and have experience with the design and implementation of technical security controls at the business division level.

Experience with AWS or similar enterprise cloud computing platforms, full-stack software architectures, and managing security incidents and threat response is also highly desirable.

The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company and may provide additional forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
