Job Title: Pipefitter

Turner Industries Group is seeking an experienced Pipefitter to work in the Sulphur, LA area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial piping and be able to physically climb in the racks and climb up and down scaffolds.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret Isometric drawings and P&ID's
  • Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems
  • Select and install pipe and related materials according to job specifications
  • Inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions and ensure structural integrity
  • Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and other construction activities
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipe as needed
  • Assemble and install various metal and nonmetal pipe fittings
  • Join pipe using threaded, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints
  • Secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets, and hangers
  • Install and maintain refrigeration and air-conditioning systems
  • Test piping system for leaks
Requirements:
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in specified skill
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client
  • Safety equipment as required by the client
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
Work Environment:

The Pipefitter will work in an industrial maintenance and construction environment, with potential exposure to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, and various noise levels. The job requires the ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and structures, as well as to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects.
