Electrical Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our team at Orion Talent. As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and installing electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.

• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.

• Detects malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.

• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as machine repairer, maintenance and tool maker, maintenance, to diagnose malfunction.

• Replaces faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices, using hand tools.

• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand tools.

• Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.

• May push buttons and press keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, test for malfunctions, and verify repairs.

• May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

• May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 2 to 4 years of related industrial experience

• Military experience counts

• Troubleshooting skills are essential.

• General mechanical and electrical knowledge (industrial settings of motors and controls) is essential.

• The general ability to work safely, communicate, and function in a team is essential.

• PLC skills are preferred, but we train

• Ability to fabricate and electrical installation experience preferred

• Industrial Maintenance training or certifications preferred

• Ability to read and interpret work orders, equipment manuals, diagrams, and specifications

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
