Lifeguarding Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part Time Lifeguard. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons at the Cape Girardeau Aquatic Centers.

• Surveillance and Safety: Maintain constant surveillance of the deck, swimming, and play areas to ensure the safety of all patrons.
• Customer Interaction: Positively interact with customers, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Rule Enforcement: Consistently enforce facility rules and policies to prevent incidents and maintain a safe environment.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies according to American Red Cross Lifeguarding guidelines and the facility's Emergency Action Plan.
• Cleanliness and Maintenance: Maintain facility cleanliness through routine cleaning and ensure the facility is well-maintained.
• Conflict Resolution: Direct all patron conflicts and complaints to the Aquatic Coordinator or Aquatic Supervisor.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with patrons, co-workers, and management staff.
• Attendance and Professionalism: Report to work on time, wearing uniform, and be prepared to perform duties in a professional and respectful manner.

• Certifications: Must possess current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications, or be willing to obtain.
• Communication Skills: Must have good communication and public relation skills.
• Reliability: Must have reliable transportation.

• Interview Process: The interview will consist of physically demonstrating water skills, a written examination, and a verbal interview.
