Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a Product Configuration Manager to join our team in Huntsville, AL. As a Product Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for managing product design changes and ensuring the overall system is configured correctly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure configuration identification and develop and manage product structure
  • Manage effectivity on product changes and develop solutions to complex technical issues
  • Work with the customer and internal logistics and fielding teams to manage field support for a fielded system
  • Oversee the As Built and As Configured systems from development through fielding with the end customer
  • Coordinate with engineering, software development, quality, procurement, and production teams to ascertain system requirements
  • Verify testing and system controls and ensure only authorized configurations are fielded
  • Provide project support in reviewing contents of CDRL's, SDRL's, item records, change records, and other items in a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Execute Configuration and Data Management processes and controls and ensure company policies and procedures are implemented in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
  • Detailed knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain and develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in configuration change management principles and record types
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with managing product effectivities for both production and fielded items
  • Detailed knowledge and experience with interchangeability as defined in ASME Y14.100, MIL-I-8500D, and EIA-649 Series
  • Detailed knowledge of bill of materials, technical documents, product drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Detailed knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as CREO, Solidworks, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems such as Windchill, Solidworks PDM Pro, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio experience is a plus)
  • Proficient in Adobe PDF editing software or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft SharePoint collaboration software
  • Capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, customer representatives, and external contacts
  • Good organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum of 3 years design engineering experience with liaison or direct production facility interaction and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred degrees in the following areas: Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical/Software/Computer/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering
  • NDIA CDM, CMII, or other Configuration Management/Data Management certification
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical, electrical, software, and other CM practices as detailed in SAE EIA-649 (series and associated handbooks), ASME Y14 (series), ISO 9001, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-HDBK-61, DODM series, DODI, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge and a minimum of five (5) years' experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (Agile PLM, Oracle Agile, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA, Siemens Teamcenter, Aras, etc.)
